What is Social Security Disability Insurance (SSD or SSDI)?

SSDI claims are referred to as Title 2 claims as authorized under Title 2 of the Social Security Act. SSDI is a federal insurance program which is payroll tax funded. It is managed by The Social Security Administration (SSA). This program is intended to provide cash support/ income supplements for individuals suffering from mental or physical disorders which restricts/ curbs their ability to be employed for a year or more.
